Scam Warning – Please Read
Fraudsters regularly impersonate SASSA and create fake helplines, websites, and WhatsApp numbers to steal personal and banking information from grant beneficiaries. Please protect yourself by remembering the following:
- SASSA will never ask you to pay money to apply for a grant, check your status, or receive your payment
- SASSA will never ask for your full banking details, PIN, or OTP via SMS or WhatsApp
- The only official SASSA website is sassa.gov.za and srd.sassa.gov.za – be suspicious of any other domain
- The only official SASSA WhatsApp number is 082 046 8553 – do not engage with any other number claiming to be SASSA
- If you receive a suspicious message or call, report it to SASSA on 0800 60 10 11
Similarly, please be aware that we – as an independent information website – will never ask you for money, your ID number, your banking details, or any personal SASSA account information. If anyone contacts you claiming to represent our platform and asking for such information, please do not respond and report it immediately.
